Set on the north coast of the beautiful Bodrum peninsula, Gundogan is a village that will captivate you from the moment you arrive. The village is laid out around a horseshoe-shaped bay giving you a feeling of really being away from it all. It is a popular destination with wealthy Turkish holidaymakers who travel from Istanbul to enjoy the exclusivity of Gundogan and has not yet been discovered as a destination for European visitors. This means that the village has retained its traditional Turkish feel, although English is widely spoken.
A walk along the promenade will take you past the minaret of the old mosque right on the beach and right round the end of the bay there are cafes hidden in the leafy shade! Many cafes have pontoons extending out over the blue water, lined with cushions for you to sit on, have a drink and soak up the atmosphere.
There is plenty to do around Gundogan and the Bodrum Peninsula. Be sure to enjoy the experience of a Turkish Bath during your stay to help you get fully relaxed! For a more active time go horse riding through the pine forests, white water rafting on the River Dalyan as it tumbles down from the mountains, or diving around the stunning coastline.
In Biblical times this area was part of the lands explored by St Paul. Ephesus is about three hours away and Miletus is even closer. If you’ve not been to Ephesus, you must go. It is one of the best ancient cities in the world and a visit brings the Bible to life!
Or simply, visit the local markets and villages on our village life tour or enjoy a chilled out boat trip. Turkey really is a wonderful place to discover.

The Catamaran hotel
Just an hour from Bodrum airport, and a drive along the beautiful Turkish coast, the Catamaran Hotel is situated right in the heart of the village and at the centre of the bay. The uninterrupted view from the hotel is stunning, looking over a small field to the beach and out into the bay!
Although officially still a two star hotel, the Catamaran is very well appointed and includes air-conditioning and stylish and spacious rooms. The hotel is designed to have an outdoor restaurant, pool and bar all looking out to sea. One of the highlights of the hotel grounds are the traditional Turkish mattresses! These provide a great venue for an afternoon snooze or just a great place to chat with friends.
Inside and downstairs is an indoor restaurant for early and late season as well as providing an ideal meeting room for much of the summer plus space for table tennis and pool.
Rooms
Almost all of the rooms have their own balcony or terrace. Ground floor rooms benefit from almost instant access to the pool or public areas while most first floor rooms have a great view, sideways in most cases towards the sea.
The rooms are mostly for two, although most can take a third bed for children. There are some larger family rooms and a couple of suites which allow two children to travel for half price, while still sleeping in a second room. There are also five pairs of interconnecting twin rooms, but children are at twin room prices in these rooms.
All rooms have en-suite shower rooms, cool tiled floors and modern stylish furniture and individually controlled air-conditioning.
Meals
Half board is provided with continental breakfast and buffet style evening meal. The food at the Catamaran is excellent and prepared with fresh organic produce. The chef provides an excellent blend of Turkish and British styles of cooking and the food has been highly rated by MasterSun and LivingSun Holidays guests. Snack lunches are available in the hotel or in many cafes nearby.
Free Watersports
Watersports are free in Gundogan! Gundogan is a lovely bay where the prevailing winds are diagonally on-shore. Our watersports centre is a short stroll across a field to the beach and provides us with an ideal place to learn to sail or windsurf with flat water and land never too far away. Working with a local watersports company, Gravity Sports, LivingSun Holidays is the main watersports operator in the area so there are few other boats to contend with. As with many Mediterranean locations the winds tend to be light in the morning and building through the afternoon.
We can also provide watersport lessons with fully accredited staff which will be charged for details are available on resort.
Locally you will find powered watersports, scuba diving, boat hire, yacht sailing and for a break from the water, horse riding.

Please note : Single room supplements apply depending on which month you are staying in the hotel. For example, if you arrive at the hotel on 28th June and your last night is 4th July, your single supplement will be calculated as follows : 3 nights in June at £3 per night (28/29/30 June) and 4 nights in July (1/2/3/4 July), the total supplement would therefore be £69.

Our prices include accommodation only, but we can help you find seats on any flights to Bodrum on a Monday.
There is a good choice of flights to Bodrum and you are welcome to research your own flights or ask about any regional flight that may be available.
